The weather is terrible and we spend the day exploring the city. We visit an old monastery popular with Ganzi Tibetan Da Gompa. Inside, beautiful red and gold pillars and monks who pray with the accompaniment of drums.


The cordyceps

In the streets of Ganzi one can not fail to remark on the sidewalk a little trade, but particularly that of Cordyceps. This is a fungus that was implanted in the body of a caterpillar, which completely noisy, until death. This fungus can be found only in the grasslands of these plateaus of Qinghai or Sichuan, around 4000 m. Encouraged by the gardener, we are entering a property and are heading towards the buildings. We are greeted by a very tall woman distinguished in a large community kitchen. We quickly settled in front of bowls of Tibetan butter tea, yak, we also taste a little tsampa and twist donuts, delicious. The house is beautiful, richly decorated, lots of photos on murs.Notre hostess speaks English little bit and we learn that the house is the "administrative basis" of the nunnery we visited this morning (without interest). We present four aged lamas who pray in a chapel and then we learn that this woman is director of the clinic Ganzi Tibetan and Tibetan girls school located in the buildings nearby.

At his suggestion, we visit the school of 8 classes and his internship. Classes are highly decorated, the workforce is reduced, and we perceive a good educational activity ... We are seeing a singing lesson. However we can not exchange any words with the teacher in charge of English ... this is our focus?
