This is the third time that we live in this small town halfway between China and Tibet. We find the Tibetan small hotel, the same dorm as last year, the same clean nickel. We rent two beds on the three that make up the dormitory (30 yuan per bed, 3 €). Kangding is at 2600 m and after two days at this altitude we will have an excellent acclimatization.
To complete this adaptation we return to Paoma Shan, a small mountain overlooking the city (400 meters). Our great surprise, the charming little temple at the top is almost abandoned, no longer rotates around its chorten ... however excessive and pretentious buildings disfigure this place: a huge hotel-style Sino-Tibetan and a prayer room decorated of statues ridiculous ... The recovery of Tibetan Buddhism to lead a mass tourism. Appalling!
